How to dress and what to bring:
Campers should bring a change of clothes daily as we will be doing water activities, so a change of dry clothes is a must. It is also beneficial to bring a few extra layers for variable weather conditions. In case of cool weather and for water activities, synthetics like polyester or fleece shirts are nice to have. Swiftwater will supply wetsuits and paddling suits if the weather is unseasonably cool. Obviously, swimsuits are a must.
For footwear, campers should have a pair of shoes dedicated for water activities. These don’t need to be water specific shoes, like neoprene booties, but can be old tennis shoes, or tight fitting sandals. Flip flops or Crocs type shoes are strongly discouraged as they are slippery when wet and do not stay on feet. Campers should also wear/bring a pair of closed toed, tight fitting shoes for other camp activities such as hiking, ropes course, and climbing.
A small day pack/ back pack, water bottle and personal snacks are recommended.
