Adventure Day Camps for Summer 2024

Swiftwater Adventures is beyond stoked to add adventure day camps to our summer line up for 2024! We are surprised we haven’t offer day camps earlier in our story as many of our trip leaders are teachers and educators, or have been camp facilitators. With our adventure and educational backgrounds it was a no brainer to offer week long day camps for area kids. 

Swiftwater Adventures day camp facilitators are all certified in first aid and cpr. Trip leaders of the adventure activities, such as whitewater rafting, have swiftwater rescue training, wilderness first aid training, as well as at least 5 to 10 years of experience. All employees and camp facilitators have passed criminal background checks and are all around cool dudes! 

Below are the different week long day camps we are offering this summer: 

Adventure Guide Camp Ages 14 to 18 $350/person June 17 to 21, 2024 

Guide Camp is a fantastic way for teens to get a taste of what it’s like to be an adventure guide while also being able to have some fun whitewater rafting and kayaking, canoeing, ropes course and climbing, hiking and nature based education. Not only will campers be introduced to the fundamentals of these adventures but they will also get an opportunity to shadow guides on a trip and see if guiding is a fit. 

Participants will get training in how to read water and classification of rapids, river hazards, basic swiftwater rescue tactics, as well as fundamentals of paddling rafts, kayaks, and canoes. Participants will also learn the basics of ropes course use and facilitation with an exposure to rock climbing, introduction to regional flora and fauna, and an introduction to basic camping logistics.  Participants will also get first aid and cpr trainging.  

Paddlers Adventure camp Ages 10 to 18 $350/person June 24 to 28, 2024 

This camp runs the gambit of paddling adventures and is perfect for anyone who has ever wanted to learn to whitewater kayak, how to handle a canoe on a lake or river, how to steer and command a raft, and more. Get ready to be on the water! This camp will make use of sections of the St. Louis River and other nearby rivers and lakes. 

Adventure Camp ages 10 to 14 $350/person 

Offered 3 times this summer: July 8 to 12, July 15 to 19, and July 22 to 27^th, 2024. 

This is an adventure gourmet buffet! Throughout the week participants will get a taste of whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, ropes course and rock climbing, orienteering, outdoor education, and camping basics. Everyday is a new adventure!  

Adventure and Environmental Science Camp Ages 10 to 14 $350/person August 5^th to 9^th, 2024 

This camp is a mix of outdoor adventure and natural and environmental science education. Taking on an immersive approach, campers will experience outdoor adventures, such as hiking, rafting, canoeing while learning local geology and reading the landscape, identification of native flora and fauna, forest ecology, stream ecology. Campers will learn about real world applications such as how scientists determine water quality, and more! 

Learn outside and on the go in beautiful places along the St. Louis River Corridor, Jay Cooke St. Park, and more!
